Sweeney Architects was set up in 2006 by Nicholas Sweeney and Ursula Hegarty with the aim of providing a client focused architectural practice.  As such, we provide a professional and creative design service tailored to our clients needs.  In providing this service, we pay a great deal of attention to the costs and deadlines which will impact upon the viability of a project.  We are committed to finding environmentally responsible solutions and strive towards sustainable design and energy efficiency through the use of innovative workable design solutions in our buildings to create the optimum living, leisure and working environments for our clients.  We want our buildings to reflect our values and make a positive impact on the environment and the people who surround and use them.

Nicholas Sweeney

Nicholas, the lead Architect in the practice, has over 15 years experience in Architecture and Project Management.  Before making the decision to set up his own practice, he worked for Marlin Architects, Ashlin Coleman Architects and Galdevar Project Management among others.

Nicholas has experience within the healthcare, residential, retail and brand development fields extending to large mixed use schemes, hotel and leisure, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.  An architect by degree, Nicholas is also a qualified project manager, physical planner and a Grade III Conservation Architect.

Ursula Hegarty

Ursula was formally a marketing consultant with Envision Marketing Consultants gaining experience in the fields of consumer goods, tourism, retail and telecoms before moving to Brussels where she worked for Broadnet Europe sprl.  Here she helped the company become the leading broadband wireless provider in Europe. Ursula was also responsible for the setting up and marketing of the New York Deli Company, the second largest wholesale gourmet sandwich company in Dublin.

With Sweeney Architects, she  specialises in bringing projects in on time and budget focusing on the needs of the client.
