Established during 1969 in Edgeworthstown by former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, C&D Foods manufactures and packages pet food products for major supermarket and retail chains across Europe. They now have production and sales facilities at eleven locations around Europe with total production capacity of some 500,000 tonnes of pet food per annum.
The success of C&D Foods has come from their treatment of customers’ own label products as if they were their own brand and offering a wide range of complimentary services from marketing support, Research and Development, sales analysis and product category management. Production is divided into wet and dry foods with wet foods being further divided into cans, trays, pouches and sausage.
As holders of ISO 14001: 2014, amongst a number of other quality accreditation certificates, C&D Foods are able to demonstrate the level of high standards to which they adhere, not only in the sourcing of their raw materials, but also in the management of their staff and production processes.
With their own dedicated Food Hall for product trials and the use of cutting edge laboratory equipment, C&D Foods are able to maintain their position as one of Europe’s leading producers of pet foods for their customers own brands.
By managing their R&D programmes effectively, they achieve consistently short ‘time to market’ lead-ins for new products whilst keeping their customers fully informed of progress throughout. Being able to match or even exceed the leading brands in the appeal of their foodstuffs gives C&D Foods a well-deserved reputation.
